First week back to work went well, maintained an acceptable level of whelm
before the christmas break several things felt unresolved, so its been nice this week to make progress on getting them sorted.
There were a few new year surprises, but they were manageable
One of my personal aims this year is to help more people through my coaching, so i've been thinking a lot about what my specific niche should be, i've coached a wide range of people in a wide range of roles, but what i'm currently drawn to is the idea of specialising in helping people in technology leadership roles. I need to do more thinking on this, but if you are reading this and are interested, please get in touch!
Surprisingly, for me i've maintained a habit of using my bullet jounal for 12 days straight. i'm finding it useful to help set myself up for the day, unload at the end of the day, and i'm enjoying filling in my little habit tracker, the thought of being able to fill in a box has driven me to do things this week that i probably wouldn't have done if i wasn't tracking things.
One of the things i'm tracking, and trying to make time for is what i've loosely termed 'nice things', just making sure i take opportunities to do things that make me feel good, such as going for a walk with my camera (see a couple of photos below)
Passport renewal is a lovely digital service, its a shame you still have to post your old one back though :(, ugh, Post Offices
Having jumped from Twitter to Threads and Bluesky, this weeks news around Meta's plan to enshittify their little bastion of the internet is disappointing, but maybe the natural end state of all tech bro, libertarian socials. Its Like the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcinisation for social platforms, maybe they all end up being fascist in the end. It makes me worry for Bluesky as well, but i guess Dorsey is no longer involved. oh for the open internet...
Very much looking forward to one of these arriving tomorrow https://www.elektronauts.com/news/605 , i have a poor recent history of buying physical music gear, not putting in the legwork in to make th best use of it and then selling it a year later at a loss, hopefully this won't happen this time.
